ARTISTS RIGHTS
Our team and collaborators live and work in contexts where culture and identity are under attack—where dissent is targeted and those who speak out are silenced. Consequences include imprisonment, torture, death threats, doxing, media attacks, legal action, cancellations, defunding, visa denials, and bans from entering countries. We fight back, organising and mobilising to defend artistic freedom through campaigns, protests, cultural initiatives, and creative projects.
We lead training to defend artistic rights, and our toolkits provide clear frameworks of how to demand accountability and take action. Our research, articles, and resources deepen understanding of the challenges artists face, whislt the testimonies we have collated can be shared on stages, in educational settings, and across communities—bringing this knowledge to wider audiences. Grounded in the belief that collaborative practices must not replicate the injustices they seek to dismantle, our prototypes offer practical ways to embed cultural workers’ rights into everyday practice.
